INGREDIENTS
½ head of cabbage, chopped
1 cup celery, diced
1 cup white or yellow onion, diced
1 cup carrots, diced
1 green bell pepper, diced
2-3 cloves garlic, minced
4 cups chicken broth
14 oz can diced tomatoes
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon basil
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
and cayenne pepper
Salt and Pepper to taste

INSTRUCTIONS
Heat 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
Add celery, onions, bell peppers, and carrots.
Saute until slightly tender.
Stir in garlic.
Pour in chicken broth.
Stir in tomatoes and cabbage.
Bring to a boil and then reduce heat.
Cook until cabbage is tender.
Stir in oregano, basil, red pepper flakes, black pepper and salt (if using)
Taste broth and adjust seasoning if needed.

Day One: Eat only your soup and fruit (except bananas). For drinks- unsweetened teas, cranberry juice and water coffee with no cream or sugar.

Day Two: Eat your soup and all the vegetables you want, but stay away from dry beans, peas and corn. Do not eat fruit today.

Day Three: Eat all the soup, fruits and vegetables you want, but No Baked Potato.

Day Four: Eat your soup and as many as eight bananas and drink as many glasses of skim milk as you would like on this day. It should lessen your desire for sweets.

    So, on day 5 it states to eat up to 6 fresh tomatoes…. I am not a tomato eater. I can eat things with tomatoes in it but to just eat a whole tomatoe not so much. What can I do??

      No, I would recommended that you don’t. Your body will start to hold on to weight if you continue to cut calories for an extended period of time. If you complete this diet and then start on a balanced, healthy diet for your size, while eliminating bad carbs and refined sugars, you will have much better results. 🙂

    YUK, I am allergic to spices… do I need to have these in there? I eat everything bland, am gluten free and seafood allergy.

      I haven’t tried it without the spices, but it will be okay if you dont put those in.

    On Day 5. Not a huge fan of tomatoes on their own, so I soaked them in oil and pepper for the day.. Then for my dinner I took some of my soup, and the tomatoes and added them in a skillet with my chicken. When the soup and tomatoes were soft, I blended them in the blender and used that on top of my chicken. Delicious. I think I will do the same for Day 6 with the soup and it will be like eating tomatoe soup versus cabbage soup for the 6th day in a row.
